FAQ

Where do you find all of your pieces? It has taken us years to develop our network of inventory resources, which includes national auction houses, local estates sales, private buyers, friends, eccentric pickers, and more.

What are your store hours? We are currently selling online only.

Is everything that you have in the store listed on Etsy?  No, it's not possible to list all of our inventory online.

Do you sell any new furniture? No, all of the pieces we carry are authentic mid-century pieces.

Do you ship? Yes, we ship nationwide. For large deliveries in the U.S. we typically use U-ship or Plycon Transportation Group. For medium-sized pieces we often ship via Greyhound, where you pick up the item at your nearest station. For smaller items we can ship via the USPS or Fed Ex. International shipments are handled on a case-by-case basis.

How often do you get new things in? Continuously.

Who do you recommend for upholstery? I take all of my upholstery jobs to Durobilt Upholstery in Tacoma. They are affordable and professional. It's a family operation that's been in business since 1948.

For wood refinishing? We take all of our refinishing work to John at Cyphers and Kallandar in South Tacoma. He does wonderful work and he's a really nice guy.

What products do you use on wood? For teak I only use Daly's Sea Fin Teak Oil made in Seattle. You can purchase Daly's at McClendon Hardware, among other places. For other woods I like the suite of products made by Howard's, which you can find at any of the chain hardware stores.

Do you deliver? Yes.

Do you take items on consignment? We prefer to purchase items outright and are always interested in looking at items for sale. We do take a very small amount of consignment items. If you are interested in selling something to us, please send an e-mail with photos and prices to info@midcenturyville.com and we will get back to you as quickly as possible.

Do you accept returns? Our furniture is not new. We encourage you to inspect a piece closely before you purchase it as we do not accept returns. Occasionally we will let clients take pieces home to see if they work before purchase. We handle these on a case-by-case basis.

Do you keep a wish list? Yes. I am happy to note if you are looking for a specific piece and then contact you if I come across it. Helpful information includes dimensions, type of wood, type of piece, and your budget.
